ACT I CHAPTER 4
RENDEZVOUS WITH ROMANCE
As the International Space Station orbits above the Earth....Madonna recovers from her fall from her mounted steed at her castle on her birthday. In his real-life world, Danny continues to try and break through the walls that appear around him. He reaches out for the stars on the Earth as he continues to question and ask for help and guidance from the stars above. Is Juliet to be found in the eyes and body of Esther or does she exist in the Princess Britney who is now pregnant and due to become a mother for the first time. A new character was just introduced to keep this story in the fairytale mood and bring this love story into the hearts and minds of a new generation. The women that I speak of are the Princess of Pop Britney Spears and the Queen of Pop Madonna.
It seems as if the Princess Bride is having a baby shower and selling the rights to view the selected few who are invited to the backyard event. This little Princess is still caught up in her world of make-believe and longs to once again get into the public eye to impress her Romeo or maybe just impress herself in order to keep her status as the Princess in the modern world of real-life make-believe.... Meanwhile, the Queen is bed-ridden and is getting restless as she longs to perform the new Madonna beat for her fans.
In a modern day world where we can only dream of a place called space....perhaps we will someday come to realize the importance of the power that the Queen Madonna and the Princess Britney will have on a future generation. If they can lead us to follow their dreams perhaps Danny can inspire a new cause to the Romeo and Juliet world in a space age story that begins with two groups of woman called the Wings and the Sands......but first a poetic interlude that recalls the famous kiss between the Queen and the Princess....
When the Queen of Pop meets the Princess
The music is theirs against the world
When the Queen of Pop kisses the Princess
We wait for the transformation to unfurl
Can't you see how together we could be...
The Queen of Pop takes on a new way to see
To see the world as a mother and a lover
Her truth is often undercover
The Princess gets married and a new beginning has arrived
With a legion of fans by her side...
She takes on the world and longs for motherhood
Was their kiss really understood?
The guard has changed but they continue to seek that life long dream
Of having a baby and watching their eyes beam
So as Madonna leads Britney and takes on new duties in life....
May they both enjoy the benefits of becoming husband and wife
As the Princess Britney gives birth to her first child....the Queen Madonna has already become a mother of three..one adopted from a far away place and two of her own that will take on her face. Now that the Queen is recovering from her fall in her castle...the world awaits the release of a new dance beat as she once again reinvents herself to the many fans of the modern era. In her time of elegance and youth, the Queen had it in her fingertips to mold a generation into a new way of thinking. So have the times changed? Doesn’t she still have it in her power to change the world? With the help of the Princess, perhaps these two fair maidens have it in their power to lift us into space above....and do so with love.
The Common Bond
There is a common bond that we all seem to share
With the birth of a child…
Eyes that shine of blue
Eyes that weep with joy
The tender sweet caress of the newborn girl or boy
There is a common bond that links us one and all
Be it in the large or be it in the small
It’s the tender sweet caress…
It’s the eyes that shine a bright
Yes, it’s the common bond of love that makes us all feel right.
With each generation comes a new set of heroes. The heroes that I spoke of for our generation may indeed be two groups of women who have it in their power to gain the support of the common man and woman and lead us back to the glory that we once experienced in space. From the Wings of the Earth to the Sands of the Moon we once before traveled to achieve a common goal. There are two separate but equal destinations that we must achieve in Space. First there is low Earth orbit where we must complete the construction of the International Space Station in a global humanitarian effort. Then there is that far away but in our grasp world of returning to the Moon to establish a permanent human presence there. This could be done with a little help from our friends in the entertainment industry if we can just once again turn our attention and dreams into reality with a little help from the Queen and the Princess and their followers on our great planet Earth.
When she dreams....
Does she speak?
Does she smile?
Is she fulfilled....Is her life worth while?
When she enters our lives....
Does she sing?
Will she dance?
Is she seeking a life of romance?
If I can match her voice….
Will she open her heart and give me a choice?
To open her heart means not to settle for second best
Those guys are a dime a dozen....like all the rest
So speak from your heart and let the feelings start
And you may be surprised to find an often surreal state of mind
Where dreams become reality and romance is king
Will the world ever get to hear me sing?
Or will my poetry help let her freedom bell ring......
To open her heart takes more then just words and promises said
It will take sincerity, kindness, and dreams that will stay with her when she leaves her bed...
To nurture and cherish all through the night and into the day
To open her heart means to do all these things in a kind and gentle way...
Do you think she'll step out of her dream and come out to play?
If she can open her heart, I'll always have more to say.
Open your heart to her song and you can't go wrong.
Open her heart to your caring and you both will be sharing….
A love so deep that it grows deeper and deeper as you sleep
A love so strong that it sometimes makes you weep
So won't you open your heart to what she has to say
And a million wishes will be answered each and every day!
How romantic can a poet be
If his words truly belong to you and me
I say that love has the power to make us be things we never thought we could be
Like a person who cares for humanity yet is void of greed
I know...but I wish for the good in people to show
But what we don't know...
Is that people can all be affected by this thing called Love
Because it seems to come from heaven above
So if you're feeling romantic but with no one to tell
.....Don't worry about going to hell
It may exist here on Earth with love at it's side
But it's the faith in our feelings that makes love come true
So follow your heart and see your dreams through
And you will find love in all that you do!
Romeo tried to find love in his Juliet but was confused because they were living in two separate worlds. Danny lived as a common man in the land of brotherly love and continued to reach out to his fellow man searching for a way to break through the walls that appeared around him. These walls were created by society and became stronger every day. Juliet lived in one of her many castles that were built to keep the common man out and the beautiful people in. Fame came to Juliet in many ways but still she could not find her true love. Few who become famous rarely find their soul mates because they live a secluded life and have lost the ability to search the masses, the classes and the creeds…they cannot plant the flowers because they have corrupted their seeds.
As Danny continued his search for Juliet, he continued to take on the role of Romeo as our story now leads us back into space and into a romantic encounter with Juliet. The role of Juliet was played by Esther in a modern day story of true love. It may be hard to comprehend but we have many characters who continue to live in this fairytale story of space, love, and romance. As the Princess and the Queen continue to entertain the common man with their song, Danny tries to right the wrongs through the words from his soul. He continues to reach out by cyberspace to others who would care. It truly has become a game of truth and dare…but he continues to reach those in the great Somewhere. Somewhere, out there, his story is being read…to be discovered by lovers who would find true love within their bed. Now let me take you up above and start a romance that will lead us to love.
Danny and Esther are beamed aboard the new space station to begin their romance. Spock is there to greet them with open arms. Spock had finally found the meaning to that “curious human emotion” that was given to him by his mother who was human and possessed that same emotion that had brought her into the loving eyes of his alien father. As the earthbound stars waste their precious time giving themselves false statues…the real stars of the earth go to their nine to five jobs and bring home enough money to support themselves as well as their families in hopes that one day they rill rise from the ashes and journey into the great unknown. Esther sang her melody to Danny as he returned from his suspended state to once again enter into his daily life of love that was lost on another calling to his beloved Juliet. Why did she continue to resist his mating call? Both Romeo and Juliet knew in their hearts that they were destined to be with one another to mate and have a child. And their child would someday be the light of their lives….To have and to hold and call each other a family.
Family and friends, pets and toys….these are the things that bring us joys….loving and laughter, happiness and pleasure…these are the dreams that all of us treasure….emotions of the heart that meaning thru the eyes…these are the feelings that no one can hide…to be caring and loving, to be gentle and true…these are the feelings that make us feel new…yes, love has the power to make us be true…to be true to ourselves, our family and our friends…to be true to each other…to be true to the end.
Let us return to our story of space, love and romance. We find that Danny and Esther have made their way to the dining module aboard the space station. Danny liked this module because it had a tremendous view of the Earth as it appeared out of the port hole near the dining tables. There was simulated gravity here so they need not float through the open air while trying to carry on a conversion with each other. Danny wanted to explain his plan to return to the moon and build the International Space Station with Esther since she had the respect of the masses, the classes and the young at heart down on planet Earth.
A table for two…….a place in space…….this is where our story now leads us. Danny looked across the table and saw the light of love beaming from Esther’s eyes. He wanted to move in closer but could not because Esther was still married down on Earth and he feared that she needed to hear his new plan or that she would never understand what he was trying to accomplish by beaming her aboard the space station with him. He wanted her to lead a group of woman from the Earth to the Moon [Luna] called the Sands. They would be responsible for promoting the completion of the American Lunar Base as new modules were added on each trip from the various space ports on planet Earth. She would have to work hand in hand with NASA as new transport vehicles were being developed and created. It was the hope of NASA to offer affordable space travel to the common man so that we could begin to populate the new space station and the lunar base before we branch out into other stations in low Earth and Lunar orbit and then on to Mars!
Esther sips her wine as she questions what Danny has in store for her in his plan to unite the people of Earth so that they can once again continue their journey back to the moon. Danny tells Esther that he believes that she and the Princess Britney have it in their power to rise above their daily lives of continued fame and fortune to band together and direct their attention to space above them that includes the space station and the Moon. It was his plan to give the moon a name and call his plan Project Luna. Luna was a new world just waiting to be populated and rich with minerals in its sand that could sustain life and be used as fuel for a trip to Mars.
As Danny carried on his conversation with Esther, the Princess was about to arrive by the Space Shuttle to join them in the Space Station. Danny wanted to speak to Britney to see if she would lead a group of women down on the Earth who would promote the building and the completion of the International Space Station. The name of this group would be called the Wings. From the Wings of the Earth to the Sands of the Moon this project would once again make stars of NASA and its astronauts as they guided us back to Luna and on to Mars.
Let us look up to the sky and continue to wonder why
Why it is so that we have lost the faith to go....
To return to the moon....we must change our tune
We have made stars of people on the Earth
Yet their guiding lights have not yielded their worth
They laugh and play in a world where others dare not stray
...with fame and greed they will plant their seed
Yet a new generation continues to call out for help and direction
as they get swallowed up within life's imperfections
We must look inside to find the truth
but never forget the Apollo adventure that occurred in our youth
If we are to travel to the stars....
We must do more then dream of places like Mars
It's the reality of our planet
With history as our guide
That will lead us back to our moon...
And if we work together… we can make it soon
We must reach far beyond the fame and any earthbound hotel
This is for sure
It is from NASA that my dreams and heroes will always endure.
The princess and the queen were soon to be together again but this time they would be seen from space above. Danny carried on his conversation with Esther as they waited for the space shuttle to dock. Danny asked Esther if she had finally seen the light and understood his meaning. Esther seemed dazed and confused as she looked out of the porthole and down on the Earth below. She thought see had seen everything in the world as she traveled the globe many times over. She thought she had sung in front of every class of people but realized how small she really was when looking down on Earth from above. Danny remarked that if she felt this small from the space station she would appear a piece of sand in the ocean when looking down on Earth from the Moon. He waited for the Princess to arrive before explaining his plan to return to the moon with Britney.
It appears NASA is having tile problems again with the Shuttle so the Princess will not arrive on time to greet Esther and Danny. The space shuttle is delayed and the Princess cannot beam aboard the station because she is having trouble being a mother to her new baby boys. She was last seen in a motor vehicle driving with her baby unprotected in her lap then in rehab after shaving her hair. She seemed a child herself and is learning how to be a caring mother in the eyes of the press. They are once again using Britney as the poster child for bad taste and it doesn’t seem fair. However, she does continue to draw negative attention to herself with the help of her ex-husband who himself seems to need some parenting skills. The Princess takes a break in her Malibu estate as NASA readies for another launch attempt in a couple months. It seems as if Britney has become a mother for the second time, giving birth to another baby boy. Meanwhile….aboard the space station Romeo carries on his conversation with Juliet.
Esther and Danny continue their conversation as the Princess returns home to her Malibu estate with her children. She desperately needs a father figure to emerge in her life because the father of her child is busy trying to understand how he could have fathered two other children from another woman and still not know the true meaning of love. The Princess desperately searched for true love but could only come up with the seed she needed to create a child and cared less about the importance of a true love and how it would affect the up bringing of her children. She looked at Esther as a role model but did not see that Esther had to overcome many barriers within her public life as she gave birth to the first of her two children. Both the Queen and the Princess were now mothers and had to deal with their children being brought up in the public eye. How they dealt with that added responsibility was to make or break their careers.
The Princess remained on Earth as Esther and Danny watched the Earth spin by them through the port hole in the space station. Danny desperately wanted to make the three day trip to the moon but NASA had yet to develop the vehicle that would return man and woman to the moon. He remembered the Apollo era and his childhood astronaut heroes. Apollo 17 was the last manned mission to the moon and left behind a lunar rover that was used to drive on the lunar surface. He realized that this mission took place in December of 1972 and a whole new generation has been born since that time. Some had begun to doubt that man actually went to the moon because they could not witness this sight for their own eyes. NASA, it seems, has not promoted its greatest accomplishment and has lost some of its credibility with the youth of the Earth. If the Queen and the Princess can help promote a new mission to the moon perhaps we can retain our past glory that we achieved in Space between 1969 and 1972.
Esther asked Danny for another glass of wine as they dined in simulated gravity aboard the space station. She said she would gladly promote the Wings and the Sands if it meant completing the International Space Station and returning to the moon to build a Lunar Base. She had already achieved her goal of uniting the youth of the planet through her music and she was looking for a new way to inspire her fans. Danny’s idea seemed unrealistic to many on the planet but he knew that Esther was the Queen and could take on the world if she put her mind to it. Although Britney was the Princess of pop and often misunderstood, she too could inspire the masses as the youth followed her every movement.
The Wings and the Sands
If WINGS can truly fly….this group of women may help us complete the International Space Station.
If SANDS are what the Moon is made of…this group of women may help us return to our Moon and help place the first woman there.
Every time I write to feel our Wings…
I get caught up in her beauty
Every time I try to fly…
I find our Wings are spread over time
Every time I laugh... .I cry deep inside
When will the Wings see the beauty that is floating in orbit above?
She lives in my soul but her love is only skin deep
Why must she weep?
She has this new world in her grasp
But still see reaches for straw instead of gold
Will we reach the Moon before we grow old?
How long can she endure if her love is not true
I write this poem for me and for you
Until I can speak those heartfelt words:
I do...I do....I do!
When our Wings can fly…
We may all reach above the sky.
The Wings that I speak of are in us all…
yet the Wings of the Earth may still be quite small
But as we grow, the Sands may spread their influence to keep us in tune
They may even lead us off the Earth and back onto the Moon
We are the Wings of the Earth and the Sands of the Moon
Yet it's a feeling from inside that will bring Luna home soon
So when you look up in the sky each night with hope and dreams…
Take hold of your Wings and Sands…
and realize that all things may not be as they may seem
You see, Luna is our Moon, a place for us to be
And with the help of the Wings and the Sands....
Someday maybe we all may see
The beauty of life above us...
And we may all be able to plant our seeds in orbit and grow the lunar trees.
A Juliet in modern times in hard to find
When I write in a poetic tongue, she finds it hard to speak
Does she exist in the land of the meek?
She calls herself by many names but it is plain to see that Juliet is still a part of me.
Call her Esther, Madonna, or Barbra and she will speak
Call her Britney and the lady will sing
But will he bring her roses on a bed of flowers
Will he be there for her in her most desperate hours?
I call out to the woman who can speak her mind throughout the ages...throughout time
If there is an angel...can she still spread her wings and fly
Up in the air.....higher and higher she must climb
Can she spread her wings and climb beyond time?
Speak to me dear Juliet, your play is alive and well within me
Can't you see?
Time stands still when Romeo meets Juliet
Their eternal romance is alive in my heart
Won't you answer me to let these feelings start?
Call to me and be not afraid to speak your mind
For this passion play may often seem sublime
Because it's a play of the heart and soul
Is there a woman out their who longs to play Juliet's role?
WHO WILL PLAY THE PART OF THE ETERNAL JULIET?
As Romeo and Juliet bring their romance into space above, we find that Danny and Esther have left the dining module and returned to the space port to be beamed back to the planet. Danny hopes that the reader has been captivated by his plan to return to the space station and on to the moon. With the help of those in the entertainment industry and NASA, it may indeed be possible to achieve these goals within our lifetime. As the candle flame flickered aboard the space station and the romance made its way back to planet Earth….the chapter finally came to an end.
